Bath and Lacock

Bath is one of the most beautiful cities in Britain.

It was founded by the Romans when they discovered natural hot-water springs, and created a spa. Later the Georgians came and built the lovely city of today - but little realised that under their building were the original Roman Baths, which were discovered when some houses collapsed in the city centre!

Lacock is a medieval village in the countryside, and has pretty, ancient buildings and a famous abbey.

Many renowned films were made in Lacock, including Harry Potter, Jane Austin’s Pride & Prejudice and also Emma, Moll Flanders. And Dame Judi Dench in the latest BBC series, “Cranford”, 2007.
